BYE MTC!
I’m heading to the Philippines tomorrow! I can’t believe this day is already here. Kinda freaking out but also so excited. No offense to the MTC but I am so ready to leave. We had the best last week. We basically did nothing in any of our classes this week cause none of our teachers knew what to teach us so we just played games and messed around all week. Me and my district have been practicing a song all week that we sang in sacrament meeting as well as went around to all the other Tagalog classes and sang to them. It’s a mix of 3 hymns that we sing in Tagalog, I’ll add the recording at the end of this.
Embarrassing moment from this week: Every sunday we have a devotional with the whole MTC that is put on by the MTC presidency. At the devotionals they have a missionary who has been at the MTC for a while give a short talk/testimony. This past sunday we show up to the devotional and Sister Calderwood (the mtc presidents wife) stands up is like “Unfortunately we do not have a testimony from a missionary today because I emailed her last minute and she didn’t look at her phone in time to see my message asking if she could bear her testimony today.” I was like hm thats funny. And I reach in my bag and grab my phone and see an email from sister Calderwood 2 hours before asking if I could bear my testimony at the Go and Do devotional. LOL whoops. I emailed her back right then as she was still up talking and was like I can come up right now! And then the whole time she was talking I was trying to get her attention and I was just gonna come up with a testimony on the spot. Unfortunately she didn’t see me or get my email so we had no missionary testimony that day haha. My bad lol. But she did feel bad that she had texted me so last minute so she gave me and my comp front row seats at the music devotional later that day.
Also on Tuesday Elder Rasband came! The spirit that fills the room when an Apostle of the Lord walks in is so amazing! God is so real and this truly is the greatest work on the earth today. I know it’s going to be so hard in the field but there is truly nowhere else I would rather be. I also finished reading the Book of Mormon today and it is SO TRUE. I love that book. I love this gospel and I am so so so ready and excited to go teach and spread this joy to the filipinos.
We head out tomorrow and fly to California first and then from Cali to the Philippines for a 5000 hour long flight! But that's all I’ve got for this week… Next week will be in the philippines!!
