Met Elder Steveson!!

Hi everyone! 2nd week down! Highlight of the week was our devotional with Elder Stevenson!! It was a combined devotional with 3 missions here in the Philippines and it was sooo good. Number one because it was an apostle speaking to us and number 2 because we got to sit in an air conditioned building for 3 hours. His talk was so good. My favorite part was how he reminded us that this is exactly where we need to be right now. He told us that our call and assignment are from Heaven and that the Lord is sooo grateful for His missionaries! We got to take a picture with him and then go shake his hand and somehow he knew me! He saw my name and said Youre from Logan huh? So that was awesome idk how he knows me but so cool!! 


We are teaching quite a few people right now and we are really hoping and praying that 2 of them will get baptized this month! They are cousins, Khiro and Art, and they are both so ready for baptism. They live in a tiny little house with all their cousins and aunts and uncles and it is so humbling to go into their tiny home where they all somehow fit. This work is so humbling and I learn so much everyday. It is so hard and so hot but I can constantly see Gods hand in my life. It is amazing how when i open my mouth to bear my testimony, the Tagalog words come to my mind and I am able to speak. 


The people here are constantly staring at me cause theyve probably never seen an American before. So everywhere I go people stare at me and they dont even try to pretend like their not staring haha. They always comment on my nose and say how pointy it is lol. But it actually is a good way to meet new friends and a good conversation starter!


Also God is so true because I have seen some big huge rats here and somehow im not scared of them. 


God loves you and so do I!

Bap Date For Micah!!

Merry almost Christmas!! It definitely doesn't feel like Christmas here because its 80 million degrees. Haha enjoy the snow for me!  This week our friend Micah accepted a baptismal date! She is 16 years old and has been on and off coming to church for basically her whole life. She attends seminary and goes to FSY. She wants to be baptized so bad but her parents won't give her permission. We just recently started teaching her again and this week we taught about baptism and extended a baptismal date. The spirit was SO STRONG and she was so excited to say yes. She even asked if she could be baptized before the end of December! Her faith is so strong and she is currently praying for the courage to talk to her mom for permission. She said that even if she doesn't get permission she wants to get baptized anyway because she trusts God that it will all work out.  I'm learning and growing so much every day and I'm so grateful to be a missionary. Nanay Peed During Our Lesson

A good week! The gift of tongues is my best friend lately and it is SO REAL. The other day we had a lesson with our friend Jerry, and I had planned to speak a lot more in this lesson. Usually I just give the invitation and bear my testimony and occasionally teach a short part. But this lesson was about the restoration and I was going to be teaching a lot more and I was nervous. But we went into the lesson and I was able to contribute everything that I needed to! When I shared the first vision, the spirit was so strong in the room. It was just another confirmation to me that Joseph Smith truly is a prophet of God and he really did restore this church.  Funny backstory… before this lesson started, we were waiting in Jerrys house for him to come downstairs. He is the caretaker for his Mom who has cancer. She has a bed in the living room and I have never not seen her on that bed. Typhoon!

Hi! Been a sec! Quick update from the past 3 weeks… -We had 7 friends come to church last week!  -Jay and Denielle got baptized last Saturday and it was such a good day!  -AND A TYPHOON! I have never seen so much rain in my life. On Wednesday, it was pouring all day. Every time we came home for meals I had to change my clothes because I was drenched. It kept raining all night long and the worst of it was on Thursday. We went out Thursday morning and it was so fun I was enjoying that storm way too much haha. At one point a car drove super fast by us and it sprayed us with water and literally drenched us. It was so funny. The weather kept getting worse so unfortunately we had to go back inside and stay in for the rest of the day.  A few streets away from us, where some members live, was the worst of the Typhoon. The water went to the second floor of their house and they had no way of getting out. Very scary. But luckily the rain finally stopped and the water went low enough...
