Trainee --> Trainer
I'M TRAINING!!
Thursday was transfer day and so I got to spend the whole morning and afternoon at the mission home with the other trainers and trainees. My new companion is sister Peras from the Phillipines and I LOVE HER! She is so so sweet, loves pink, loves chocolate, and loves rocky road ice cream. So yes, we get along great haha. I also feel like I'm having to relearn the culture of the Philippines. This whole time I thought all Filipinos were awkward and quiet and so I became awkward and quiet because I thought that was the culture here. Lol it's not. My last companion was just awkward, which made everyone else awkward haha. Love her but people skills weren't quite her strongest trait. So it's been so refreshing to have a companion that can actually talk and be friendly with people!
I was super scared to be training because I literally just got out of training myself! And it means I have to know how to teach all the lessons! I feel so unprepared and inadequate. But I have already learned so much and so I'm very excited for this transfer. I've seen how the Holy Ghost testifies through my words to our friends, the gift of tongues is so real, and I have gained a stronger desire to learn all the principles better. During personal study I focus harder than I did last transfer, because I actually have to know what I'm teaching and I can't look to my trainer for help! I'm feeling so humbled and so pumped for this transfer!
Alsoooo Elder Kearon from the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles came to the Philippines and yesterday there was a devotional for all the new members. So we got to take our new ward members and hear from Elder Kearon! And he is speaking to just our mission later today too so we get to hear from him again!
Here's a short something I liked from Elder Kearon:
When Elder Kearon started his talk yesterday he said “Welcome to the church of new beginnings!” Our church is one where we can start over every time we mess up. It's not just one new beginning. Its beginning after beginning after beginning. As humans, we make endless mistakes. But, we are part of a church with endless new beginnings. And the Lord loves us and welcomes us back every time we repent!
Alright thats all! Mahal kita!
