Many Miracles
God is so good, lots of good experiences this week!
We were out knocking doors one night having no success. Almost everyone outside was drunk and all the doors we knocked on rejected us. We came to a dead end so we turned around to go back and we saw a small, dark alley to the side of us. At the same time, me and my companion stopped walking, looked at each other, and said “let's go there”. We walked through this tiny alley and knocked on the first door we saw. A woman opened the door and before I could even finish saying “Hi we're missionaries for the…” she immediately said “Pasok, pasok, pasok!” (come in, come in, come in!) She didn't even ask any questions and immediately got us chairs and told us to sit down. We shared a message to her and her family about the Book of Mormon and they were so interested! About 3 minutes after we had left, we looked back at her house and she was already reading the Book of Mormon!
A few days later on Sunday, her 14 year old son, Darel, walked to church all by himself. His mom was busy and couldn't make it to church so Darel came all by himself after only meeting us the one time. He was so cute and it turns out one of his basketball teammates is a member in our ward! So he was so excited to find out he had a friend at church too.
We also extended 3 more baptismal dates this week to a mom and her 2 sons. It has been so amazing to see Myra's testimony grow and watch her faith as she chooses to come to church instead of going to work. She sells snacks at a stand on the street and she reads the Book of Mormon while she sits there!
Our cute friend Elen who is 70 years old is also so excited for her baptism. She loves reading the Book of Mormon and Bible and comparing the teachings. Last night she said "I'm excited for my baptism, but I'm scared because I don't know how to swim!”
Overall, life is so good and despite the challenges, so many good things always make up for it.
Mahal kita!
